New event helps sand operations show off their work

North Valley Sand and West Center Sand in Nebraska held their inaugural Dredge Days Event

On April 20, North Valley Sand and West Center Sand in Nebraska held their inaugural Dredge Days Event.

The friends-and-family event allowed team members to show off their site and equipment. Along with lunch, the crews gave site tours and created a dig site for younger guests to hunt for fossils and rocks found during dredging activities.

“The biggest highlight of the event for me was seeing everyone’s families get out and enjoy our location with smiles on their faces,” said West Center Sand Leadperson AJ Gray. “The dig site was a massive hit with the smaller children.”

Around 50 people attended the event. Leaders from both sites said they plan to continue this new tradition in the years to come.

“It was good to see the employees’ joy while showing their families the sand plant location. It’s clear to me that the teams out here have pride and want to excel. I think it brought all of us closer together and will add to building a strong culture here,” said Jeffery Brink, West Center Sand plant manager. “We have plans to build on this in the future and make the event bigger and better every year.”
