Martin Marietta celebrates 30 years as a publicly traded company
Upcoming virtual event open to all employees
Martin Marietta has hit its milestone 30th anniversary as a publicly traded company and is blowing out the candles to celebrate three decades of industry excellence.
Chairman and CEO Ward Nye said he is honored to recognize this historic birthday and is incredibly thankful for the many contributions each employee has made to the company’s world-class journey.
“Since our earliest days, the people behind our products have made Martin Marietta special. This is truer today than ever before,” Nye said. “Together, we have built enduring legacies for our company and the members of our ONE team. We have strengthened our business while expanding our footprint from coast to coast.”
Hitting the trading floor in February 1994, Martin Marietta has grown exponentially and now supports hundreds of communities across the United States, Canada, and The Bahamas, supplying each with the foundational materials needed to thrive and grow.
Focusing on the company’s core values of Safety, Integrity, Excellence, Community and Stewardship, Martin Marietta has spent the past 30 years engaged as good neighbors.
“I can genuinely think of no other company that has achieved so much in the past three decades,” Nye added.
Martin Marietta will hold a virtual town hall celebration on Tuesday, July 16, to commemorate this fantastic benchmark.
All teams are encouraged to join in on the festivities while tuning into a live webcast featuring Nye and each of the company’s division presidents.
The event will be broadcast from the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts in Raleigh, North Carolina and broadcast to every Martin Marietta location.
“We are all so excited to honor our people, our presence in the community and the incredible strides we have made over these past 30 years,” said Employee Engagement Manager Jennifer Meulendyke, who is helping plan the July event. “This town hall will be a companywide celebration to show that our ONE team has never been stronger.”
In preparation for the event, a new video, “Martin Marietta: A History in Stone,” was released, highlighting key moments in the company’s illustrious history.
The video, which is about six minutes long, shows how Martin Marietta has provided value to the communities it serves, the people it works with and the shareholders who invest in its success.
“It’s amazing to see where we’ve been and exciting to see where we are going,” Meulendyke said.

Nye said the company’s success ultimately boils down to the people who make Martin Marietta what it is today.
“In 30 years, we have transformed Martin Marietta from a regional materials provider to a nearly $40 billion enterprise now known worldwide, and we have to thank all the team members who have made our company what it is today,” he said. “Our people have shaped our past and helped define Martin Marietta as an industry leader and employer of choice. Even more impressive, our teams have positioned our company for even greater success in the decades to come.”
