 Ballistic Resistant Panels

Martin Marietta Composites’ fiberglass laminate panels are designed to help protect structures from ballistic threats.

Advantages include:

Lightweight: Each 96” x 48” sheet weighs about 165lbs and is approximately 0.5" thick.

Superior Performance: Panels have been certified to Underwriters Laboratories’ Standard for Safety for Bullet-Resisting Equipment (UL 752) - Level III and the National Institute of Justice’s standard, Ballistic Resistant Protective Materials (NIJ 0108.01) - Level IIIA. Panels can be stacked together to achieve higher levels of protection.

Immediate Availability: Our fully automated and continuous production process is much more efficient than traditional batch processes. Panels are stocked in 96” x 48” sizes. Custom sizes are available upon request.

Easily Installed: Panels can be machined with conventional hand tools using a high quality carbide blade. To improve aesthetics, panels can be painted or covered with wallpaper.

 Blast Resistant Panels

TRANSONITE features 3-D fiber insertions to help prevent delamination of the panel
during the blast.

Martin Marietta Composites has developed composite panels that offer protection from blast threats. Unlike conventional steel and aluminum panels, composite panels are light weight, corrosion resistant and easy to install. Our composite panels address a variety of threats from near contact, man-mobile charges to large charges with a greater standoff distance.
